Avvio and Chef Greg Coccio are proud to have a long-standing relationship with the Votech Culinary Program from West High School in Cranston. The program brings these young future hospitality professionals into our restaurant where they catch a glimpse of the chef and server life. Chef Greg is front and center to guide the students, to answer any questions and to give them a taste of what’s cooking. Chef explains, “The students have taken time out of their school schedules to come to Avvio to take a tour and eat lunch with myself and Chef Kevin DiLibero. We are building a relationship to encourage young culinary students to get out into the workforce. True culinary knowledge is learned on the job not just at school.” It makes us all pretty proud too. You never know when or where the next great culinary talent is going to come from, but it’s our job to make sure we do what we can to help nurture that spirit and talent.
