The Bohlin at the Newport Yachting Center in Newport, RI is seeking a Banquet Manager to join their team. The Bohlin is a seasonal wedding & event destination. Anchored by a signature Sperry Tent, centered in a world-class marina, the Bohlin’s dockside terrace is surrounded by sailboats and classic luxury yachts, creating a unique and dramatic backdrop which is the perfect location to host a personalized private event from May – October.
The ideal Banquet Manager will have a thorough understanding of event operations with a strong hospitality and service background whom pleasing and impressing guests comes naturally. This position will require strong leadership skills to successfully operate a high-volume banquet site.
The Banquet Manager will oversee and lead the daily operations. Responsibilities include but are not limited to; planning, assigning, and directing work; training and development of others around them; appraising performance and resolving problems, manage prime costs, purchasing, inventory controls, and vendor relationships. Additionally, this individual must possess strong administrative skills with the ability to multitask and delegate effectively.

This is a full-time, seasonal salaried position that requires a minimum of 2-4 years of previous supervisory experience in Banquets and Catering. Ideal candidates will be flexible and able to work, days, nights, weekends and some holidays may be required.
