Today Aquidneck Farms manages close to 400 acres of prime agricultural land all within one mile of the original farm. Our 125 head herd is a mix of pure Angus and an Angus/Hereford cross.

Baffoni’s Poultry, Johnston - Baffoni’s Poultry Farm was started in 1935. Today six family members work on their 80-acre farm in Johnston, where they raise 25,000 chickens and 1,200 turkeys. For the Baffoni family, growing up on the farm became a way of life, and they intend to make that available for the next generation. They raise leghorn and RI Red hens for egg production, and broad breasted cornish broilers from fryers. Their chickens are fed an all-vegetarian diet, with no meat by-products and all their eggs are hand picked and hand-packed.

The brothers are two sets of fraternal twins who produce thimble-shaped pieces called “Hannahbells” that come in lavender, rosemary, shallot, red pepper and chipotle flavors. They not only are committed to producing delicious, artisanal cheeses but preserving open space in their hometown of Westport, Massachusetts.

Simmons Farm, Middletown - Simmons Farm is a 300-year old family farm on Aquidneck Island. With 110 acres - all certified organic, it is RI’s largest organic farm. They grow 25 acres of vegetables, with the remainder being in hay and pasture. They pasture a herd of heritage breed Belted Galloway for pastured beef along with pasturing poultry for both eggs and meat along with pastured pork.
